An updated take on a beloved high school comedy tops the DVD releases for the week of April 23.

"Mean Girls": An adaptation of the musical based on the 2004 film, starring Angourie Rice as Cady Heron and Reneé Rapp as Regina George.

"There’s a lot of fun onscreen in this 'Mean Girls' ... but it also feels like a condensed skim of the story and the movie’s greatest hits," writes Tribune News Service critic Katie Walsh in her review. "It’s more of a musical addendum to the original 'Mean Girls' than it is own stand-alone project."

"Mean Girls (2004)": Marking 20 years of trying to make fetch happen, the original film is also available on 4K Ultra HD for the first time with new bonus content as Tina Fey and others reflect on the movie.
